The sweetest temperaments start with a good home...

Welcome to Lucky Wun Kennels

I established Lucky Wun Kennels in 1985. The Kennel is small with only five individual kennels which enables me to keep in personal touch with all of the dogs. I also focus on keeping the best of our litters for sale or showing. Since so much time is spent training, Lucky Wun Kennels only has 3 to 4 litters per year. The number of puppies in a litter range from one to six. The breeding parents are O.F.A.certified, (Hip registration) which insures that the breeding parents have been tested and given certification for good hips. To ensure a purebred, blood panels are done before breeding. In addition, most breeding’s are between A.K.C. Champions, who often come from a family line of Champions.

All puppies are raised in our house and not in the kennel; although I do have a small kennel built into the lower kitchen cabinets to help with housebreaking the puppies. Puppies are raised around young children to help ensure sweet temperaments. Temperament can become an issue when pups are taken away from their littermates at too young of an age, that’s why I do not release the pups to new homes until they are 10 weeks of age or older. It has been my experience that a Shar-Pei puppy should not be separated from its litter at an age any younger than 8 weeks. It is important for the puppy to spend time with their littermates to establish the "pecking order". Our puppies not only leave our home with the best personalities but, also learn how to get along with older dogs and vise versa.

In preparation for a new home, all pups receive their first shots, are wormed twice and all dew claws are removed. The puppies are taken to a board certified surgeon to have their eyes tacked, if such a procedure is required.
